Road 2 Home

Our mission is to support our neighbors experiencing homelessness while they are on their “road to home.”

Everyone’s journey is unique, but with community support we can help our neighbors access basic needs and continue on their path to housing.

Our Approach

People experiencing homelessness often face a complex set of challenges that prevent them from accessing housing: from lack of ID, medical debt, eviction records, or history of trauma. To overcome these challenges, they must navigate dozens of agencies, complete multiple applications for benefits, and attend numerous appointments.

No one should have to do all of this alone.

Our Community Ally Program aims to pair each participant with a community ally who can be there to listen, help them navigate the system, and support them on their “road to home.”

Overview of Programs

Community Ally Program

With our Community Ally Program, volunteers are trained to be allies with people experiencing homelessness. Thanks to a Project Neighborly Grant from the Whatcom Community Foundation, Road2Home is training community members to help those experiencing homelessness access resources and ultimately secure housing.

Sunset Cottages -Transitional Housing

Road2Home will build transitional housing for adults and couples experiencing homelessness, with a focus on those 55+. The envisioned transitional housing will accommodate up to 40 people, have a central community building, and sleeping cottages.
